“You have to be kidding me.” Buffy stared at Xander like he’d grown a new head.

“I swear.” He put a hand up. “It’s cherry red with a diamond coating.”

“Giles bought a red sports car.” She shook her head. Another end of the world would be easier to believe than Giles in a sports car. “Are you sure he didn’t just borrow it?”

“I’m positive. It’s a sweet car.”

“Giles isn’t mixy with a sports car, kinda like that earring of his.” Buffy turned to Willow. “Am I wrong?”

“I guess even Watchers can have mid-life crisis.” Willow grinned.

Oz ignored the whispers; unlike the Bronze, where gossip around him was spiced with mystery and a couple unresolved deaths, everybody at Caritas knew what he did and who he did it for.

Little Frank, the eight-feet blue-skinned Mondays regular, took one look at him, wrapped up his rendition of ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’, and held the mike out.

“Thanks,” Oz grunted.

For the first time, the weight of his guitar across his lap didn’t calm him down. Soon after, the Host was standing before him, a deep frown on his face.

That bad, huh?

Oz wasn’t surprised.

Cordelia let out a soft ‘wow’. Impressive, to say the least. She’d never been mad about cars, but dating had taught her the basics – not to mention her one steady high school sweetheart, who hid issues of Car Action and Top Gear under his bed right next to staked action figures.

Xander would be drooling over this – right before he burned the entire fleet for being Wolfram & Hart property.

“Is it wrong that I’m less opposed to having joined the firm of evil?” Doyle asked, eyes clapped on a beautiful Chevy.

Cordelia eyed a cherry convertible. “Not right now.”

Spike hummed along to the old song, watching from the shadows as the nice, fresh, young, sunburnt sailors disembarked. Oh, how he loved the taste of blood through tanned skin. The nearest he ever got to sunlight. It reminded him of distant, lazy summer days - which, of course, he didn’t miss at all.
“All the nice girls love a Sailor
All the nice girls love a Tar.”
And so did he. Their blood was always slightly salty.
