He remembers the promises he tried to make her, and now he's glad he can't talk. He remembers the nights she came home bruise, battered, and crying. He recounts every time she told him all she really wanted was Angel, to win his praise, earn his love. He recalls all the times he held her when Angel could have, all her tears he dried, all his comfort he gave to her.
Dennis is glad he can't talk because he never made promises to her that he couldn't make happen, but he also still wishes he could, just for a moment, talk, just to say one thing to one dumbass. He'd love to tell Angel to go to the Hell in which he sent his precious Cordy.
